Sweetums Signatures is a small, family-owned, business in Ohio built on core values of hard work and delivering on our promises (while still having a good time). Our goal is to deliver high-quality products to help you personalize your home and your wardrobe at an affordable price. We strive to treat every client like a neighbor with the customer service you deserve.

Sweetums Signatures was launched in January of 2007 by Danette Martin in Attica, Ohio. Driven by her love of family and entrepreneurial-spirit, she purchased equipment and started designing and producing decals for family and friends. Unhappy with the hours and travel required for her corporate job, she took a leap of faith, left her corporate job and poured her time, energy and passion into her new business. Along the way, large format printing was added, allowing Sweetums to offer printed vinyl banners, signs and custom canvas wall art. As orders grew, Danette and her growing team outgrew the basement workspace and in 2015 moved into the new shop. With more space and a desire to meet customer requests, a DTG (Direct to Garment) printer was purchased in 2016, allowing Sweetums Signatures to add a new product offering - apparel! The business expanded once again in 2017 when the tent and event rental business Danette’s father started became part of Sweetums Signatures.

Sweetums Signatures serves customers through their website, their Etsy shop and as a supplier for retailers such as Overstock, Wayfair, and Amazon. Local customers can stop at our shop where we are in the process of adding a retail section. We are expanding our space to move Helga the garment printer into, allowing for a dedicated retail space up front. We also setup at several Ohio based festivals to sell our Homegrown line. All of Sweetums products are high-quality and customizable, with fast shipping on all orders. From something that started small, Danette has grown Sweetums Signatures into a successful business that serves clients down the road and around the world.

Danette Martin

Owner (of Sweetums and endless big ideas)

I didn’t plan on starting Sweetums Signatures. I had a corporate position that required constant travel. I liked my job, but hated being away from home. I did a little soul searching and took a chance. I’m surrounded by entrepreneurs; my mom owns a flower shoppe, my dad owned a tent and table rental business, my in-laws own a salon and an excavating company, and my husband races sprint cars. So, it’s in my blood. I purchased some equipment and started designing and manufacturing decals for my husbands race car. I mean really, how hard could it be? It took a long time to learn the programs and the equipment, but I loved every minute of it. From something that started so small, grew an addiction, a passion, and a way out of my corporate misery. I quit my job and have never looked back. I work more than ever, but I absolutely love what I do… and I don’t have to travel away from home anymore!

My husband and I have two children. Nevelle was born in October of 2010 and Levin was born in October of 2013. When I’m not working, you can find me hanging with my friends and family. I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life and a true believer that everything really does happen for a reason.

Ashleigh Picciuto

Graphic Designer (& Customer Service Extraordinaire)

I grew up in Tiffin, Ohio and went to BGSU where I studied Visual Communication Technology and received my Bachelor of Science in Technology. I joined the Sweetums team in 2012, helping design custom decals. Over the years, I’ve taken on more duties such as customer relations, web design and creating other product designs. I love helping customers to create great custom designs.

When I’m not working, I love being outdoors and am a huge sports fanatic. My favorite teams are the Cleveland Indians, the Green Bay Packers, the Cleveland Cavaliers and OSU football… and of course BGSU Falcon football! I love fishing, hiking or just spending time with my husband Jim and our two kids Harper and Ace. I love my small hometown of Tiffin and that I get to raise my kids here.

Alexis Hall

Production Manager (AKA Helga’s Master)

I love working in my small town (it’s an easy commute!), but I love that our decals and shirts get sent all over the country. I am originally from Attica, a hometown girl. I went to Seneca East and graduated in 2015. I started at Sweetums the summer after graduation, I had babysat for Danette’s kids and she needed help in the shop and that’s where it started. I like the people that I work with and the shows are always a lot of fun.

Outside of work I love to sleep, really naps are my favorite! I enjoy shopping and spending time with my younger siblings, Clayton and Ashley. I love going on adventures and exploring the outdoors.

Jessica Frisch

Executive Assistant (& Expert Organizer)

I have been a part of team Sweetums on and off since 2014. Though I have stepped away a couple of times for reasons including a brief relocation for my husband's job, I have always felt that this was where I was meant to be.
I love every aspect of my job and the new challenges and opportunities that continue to arise both for the company and myself. I grew up in Willard, Ohio and have had ties to Attica since meeting my husband, Ryan who grew up in Attica and graduated with both, Danette and her husband. Ryan and I now have a son, Jameson and we live in Willard. We are glad to be back home surrounded by our family and friends. I am forever grateful for the ability to be a part of this fabulous team and I am lucky to call all of these ladies not only my co-workers, but also my friends.

Ashley Rickard

Production Assistant (Shipping Wizard)

I grew up in Attica, Ohio where I graduated from Seneca East High School. I currently attend The University Of Toledo and Owens Community College in Toledo.

I don’t get much down time between school, studying, and working at Sweetums, but when I do you can find me relaxing enjoying some snacks and watching a good binge on Netflix! I’m also known for singing along to the radio at work and making people smile with my silly faces.

It’s so hard for me to think of my favorite part of working here at Sweetums. I guess the best part of my job is that I get to do so many different things which results in providing customers with a really fun end product!
